Now based in Hollywood, with roots in The Burren region of Co.Clare,
Mike Considine is a self-taught musician who plays by ear and has an
intuitive knowledge of melody, harmony, rhythm and syncopation. His
specialty is the Irish bouzouki and tenor guitar. He has appeared in
concerts and tours with some of Ireland's finest musicians including
John Carty, Cormac Breatnach, Tommy Peoples, Dermot Byrne, Brian
McGrath, Alan Kelly, Sean Smyth, Brendan Larrissey, John Faulkner and
Mary Shannon.
Mike spent 13 years in New Zealand where he was an integral member of
the groups Rua, Claddagh and The Wylde Takafoleys. He recorded numerous
projects with many of New Zealand’s finest musicians including cutting
edge producer, Jody Lloyd (Trillion). Together they produced “Bazuki
Joe” – an Irish / Pacifica hybrid sound and Mike won two New Zealand
music awards for his work with Claddagh and flautist, Brendyn
Montgomery.

Mike
is currently preparing his new bouzouki/strings recording and
